At the Comedie Francaise; they were mostly a Moliere house. She retired when she marrried Sir Percy.

Tom stops to listen, thinking this may be some of the modern music. If it is, he likes it much more than the bit with beetles. If John pauses for any reason (even if he's not done playing) Tom claps. "Bravo!"

"I don't know. It's not Handel, but it sounds decent to me." Tom sounds oh so Britsh and happens to have a few operas written about him (but not any musicals as of 1997 that we are aware of.)

*not familiar with Tom Jones operas, but has read the book--and, unfortunately for Tom, Tom Jones is a big name on Broadway. ^_~* Would you prefer Handel?

Eee! Tom loves Handel because it makes him think of home and he listens in a rapture, his fingers twitching to the music.

*John probably has less natural talent than Sophie, but he has years and years of practice, and there's a familiarity to his playing--the comfortable ease of a man who no longer has to worry about page turns or exact notation, but only on what he remembers from hours and hours of these notes*
